PM lays basis stone of ₹10,601-crore fertiliser plant in Assam’s Dibrugarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (December 21, 2025) laid the muse stone of a ₹10,601-crore brownfield ammonia-urea plant in Dibrugarh district of Assam.

The Assam Valley Fertiliser and Chemical Firm Ltd (AVFCCL) could have an annual urea manufacturing capability of 12.7 lakh metric tonnes, and the undertaking is scheduled for commissioning in 2030.

In July this 12 months, AVFCCL was included at Namrup in Dibrugarh district. A brand new plant throughout the current premises of the Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corp Ltd (BVFCL) was accepted by the Union Cupboard in March this 12 months.

AVFCCL is a three way partnership among the many Assam Authorities, Oil India, Nationwide Fertilisers Ltd (NFL), Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd (HURL), and BVFCL.
