The winter chill intensified at many locations in Punjab and Haryana on Friday (December 19, 2025) as a thick blanket of fog enveloped a number of areas in each states.
Hoshiarpur in Punjab emerged because the coldest place within the area, recording a minimal temperature of 4.8 levels Celsius, in line with the native meteorological division.
Fog lowered visibility at a number of locations in each Punjab and Haryana on Friday (December 19, 2025) morning, officers mentioned.
Pathankot notched a low of 8.7 levels Celsius whereas the minimal temperature in Bathinda dropped to five.2 levels Celsius. Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded lows of 5.8 and 6 levels Celsius, respectively.
Among the many different locations in Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 9.3 levels Celsius, 5 levels above regular, whereas Ludhiana and Patiala registered a minimal of 10.6 and 9.6 levels Celsius, respectively, the MeT division mentioned.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of the 2 states, recorded a minimal of seven.9 levels Celsius.
In Haryana, the minimal temperature in Ambala was recorded at 10.4 levels Celsius, 3 notches above regular, whereas Hisar registered a low of 9.5 levels Celsius.
Karnal logged a low of 10.2 levels Celsius, Narnaul 5.1 levels Celsius, whereas Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa registered minimal temperatures of 9.2, 6 and seven.6 levels Celsius, respectively.
